How to Edit Prompts Smartly in Media AgentsEditor’s Media Agents combine image generation and text generation to create visual drafts such as Instagram Stories, social posts, thumbnails, and more.
While you can modify prompts inside the Agent Editor, the fastest and most powerful way to refine your agent output is by using Edit Prompt inside any draft.
This guide walks you through adjusting both the image prompt and the text prompt to get exactly the visuals and copy you want.
In the example from the video, the Instagram Story Media Agent contains:
A logo at the top
The copy (text) at the bottom
A generated image
A mask layer behind the image for stylistic effect
We start by applying this Media Agent to an article about the U.S. government shutdown and generating a draft.
Once the draft is created:
Open the Draft
Click Edit Prompt
You will see:
Left side: Your editable prompt
Right side: A real-time preview of the image + text output
This allows you to iterate instantly and see the changes without modifying your main agent yet.
Sometimes your previous prompt instructions may accidentally influence a new request.
In the example, the generated image incorrectly showed:
An airport
Random flights
Irrelevant context
This happened because the agent still contained leftover instructions from a previous draft.
Remove the irrelevant lines inside the image prompt ("airport", "flights", etc.)
Add new logic, for example:
If the article speaks about political issues, show an image of the president of the country.
Also include a very famous monument of that country so the reader understands which country the article is about.
Click Rerun
The new output is immediately better—Trump signing documents, relevant to the political story.
If you want a better alternative, simply:
Press Rerun Image again
Generate unlimited variations until the style fits your needs
In the video, one of the reruns produced an image with the White House behind Trump—perfect for posting.
The copy may sometimes be too long or too dense for social media formats.
In the tutorial:
The text was set to 200 characters
The creator wanted something shorter
Edit the instruction:
Limit the output to 100 characters.
Press Rerun
The copy regenerates instantly with the new limit.
This is useful for:
Instagram Stories
Reels
TikTok overlays
Twitter/X headlines
Carousel slides
After refining the prompts, the creator applies the Media Agent to a new article about:
Dallas Mavericks firing GM Nico Harrison
The generated image contains unwanted text and numbers.
To fix this:
Open Edit Prompt
Add a new instruction:
Never showcase dimensions, numbers, characters, or letters inside the generated image.
Press Rerun
The new image is clean, aesthetic, and social-media ready.
Final TipsThe Edit Prompt feature is the fastest way to iterate both visuals and copy.
Use real-time reruns to get the best image without editing the global agent until you are ready.
When your prompt is perfected, copy your improved instructions back into the Media Agent for consistent future results.
Use clear, simple, direct instructions for maximum control over AI-generated visuals.
