Getting Started with Editor — Full Demo & Feature Overview
Watch the full demo video:
In this video, we showcase how Editor helps newsrooms like Politora become 10x more productive — from ingesting feeds to publishing articles and social posts with AI.
What Is Editor?Editor is an AI-powered newsroom automation platform that allows you to reproduce, rewrite, and publish news articles and social media content in seconds.
In this article, we’ll walk through the full demo — covering Feeds, Drafts, Agents (Text & Media), and customization options that make Editor the most flexible AI assistant for journalists and content creators.
Feeds — Organize and Follow News SourcesYour Feeds are the backbone of your newsroom inside Editor.
On the Home page, you’ll find all your news sources organized in folders — usually by teams or topics (e.g., World News, Sports, Politics).
Organized Folders: Group sources by editorial teams or themes.
Article Summaries: View summaries for each article directly in the app.
Original Source Access: Open the original article or URL in one click.
Add New Sources Easily:
Click Add → Feeds
Paste the RSS or website URL
Click Follow
The source will appear at the bottom of your folder list — you can drag and drop it into any folder.
Example: At Politora, the “BBC World” folder displays all articles from the BBC World section, with quick access to summaries and URLs.
Drafts — Generate Articles and Social Content InstantlyOnce you’ve found a story you’d like to reproduce, simply click “Draft.”
You’ll be asked to choose one of your agents (e.g., “English Reproduce Agent”).
The agent will start generating drafts for you automatically.
Multiple versions of your article (short, medium, long)
Title and Meta Description suggestions (SEO-ready)
Instagram Caption options
Select your favorite version — e.g., Medium Length Version
Copy and paste the text directly into your CMS (e.g., WordPress)
Choose a title and description from the generated suggestions
Add your tags, categories, and publish
If you’ve also used an Image Agent, your corresponding image will be ready for download and upload to your article.
Once your article is published, you can instantly generate matching social media visuals and captions.
Download your image from your Media Agent
Copy your preferred caption from your Text Agent
Post directly to Instagram, X, or any platform
Text Agents — Customize How Editor WritesThe heart of Editor lies in its Agents system — where you define how Editor writes or designs content.
You can access all your agents from the Agents tab.
Text Agents: Generate text outputs (articles, captions, summaries)
Media Agents: Generate images or visual posts
For example, the English Reproduce Agent used earlier can be fully customized:
Modify its prompt (the instructions Editor uses to generate text)
Add examples of your writing style
Include specific tone or structure preferences (e.g., “write like Reuters,” “use 200 words,” “add a quote section,” etc.)
Click Add Agent → Text Agent
Give it a name (e.g., “Spanish Reproduce”)
Press Create
Rename the automatically created prompt to Article
Edit the prompt — for example:
“Write a short Spanish news article summarizing the following content: [ARTICLE].”
Important: Always include the
[ARTICLE]placeholder at the end of your prompt — this is replaced by the actual source article during generation.
If your article isn’t perfect, use Smart Edit Prompt to refine results:
Click Edit Prompt
Adjust the instructions (e.g., “limit to 200 words” or “make it more engaging”)
Press Rerun
When you’re happy with the result, click Save.
Your agent is now updated and ready for reuse in future drafts.
Media Agents — Create Branded Visuals AutomaticallyMedia Agents are one of Editor’s most powerful tools.
They allow you to create automated, on-brand visuals for articles and social media posts — like Instagram Stories, X banners, or YouTube thumbnails.
Go to Agents → Add Media Agent
Choose from an existing template or create one from scratch
Let’s build one step by step:
Add a background image
Add a mask or overlay to make text pop
Add your main copy (headline or quote)
Add your logo at the top and mark it as Static (so it doesn’t change across drafts)
When you save your template:
Your Media Agent is created
Prompts are automatically generated based on your input fields
For example, the “Main Copy” field will have a prompt like
“Write a 250-character headline that summarizes the story and attracts attention.”
Rename your new agent (e.g., insta_story) and you’re ready to generate visuals.
Once your media draft is generated:
You can adjust element positions (move text, resize, realign logos)
You can edit prompts to refine tone or style (e.g., “make it more colorful,” “add emojis”)
You can rerun the agent to apply updated prompts
All changes are applied across future drafts, keeping your visuals consistent and brand-aligned.
